As the Senior Coordinator, Faculty Access and Inclusion, you will be the key contact for faculty teaching and learning teams, sessional academics and professional staff to address disability-related planning and support. The role focuses on building disability confidence and capability within faculties to improve the experiences and knowledge of staff working with diverse cohorts, including students with disability.

Reporting to the Access and Inclusion Manager, the Senior Coordinator will:

  • Produce and deliver capacity development activities and resources specific to supporting students with disability in coursework.
  • Support faculty teams in implementing timely reasonable adjustments and inclusive practices to ensure equity in participation.
  • Support faculty teams to partner with students with disability and establish communities of practice and working groups.
  • Attend faculty meetings, planning days, committees and working groups as required.
  • Evaluate the impact, effectiveness and sustainability of reasonable adjustments and inclusive practices within a faculty, school or course.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Student Services and Student Access and Inclusion operational plans, policies, procedures and services, and lead designated projects related to teaching and learning.
  • Ensure the implementation of all University and Government policies relevant to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, risk management, staff development and performance review.                                                                                                                                       

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or extensive experience and management expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • Experience working with people with disability and/or lived experience.
  • Experience with high-level negotiations and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Disability Standards for Education and Disability Discrimination legislation.
  • Ability to develop and deliver information, resources and training to build the capacity of others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and key partners to achieve outcomes.
