About the role:
As a Consultant, Change and Improvement you will be part of the university-wide change management and improvement function. In collaboration with the Associate Director and key stakeholders, you will take a proactive approach to delivering change management, process improvement and development of solutions on priority projects, processes and initiatives.

You will work collaboratively to drive and deliver consistent change and process improvement practices, identify and understand challenges and opportunities, facilitate outcomes and implement university-wide frameworks and governance practices to deliver robust, end-to-end change management and process improvement services in collaboration with leaders and teams.

As a Consultant, Change and Improvement, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end change management, process improvement capability development and change adoption solutions
  • Facilitate workshops to understand and map processes, current and possible future state and co-design implementation activities
  • Leverage and apply university-wide frameworks, methodologies and practices to achieve process improvement and change management outcomes
  • Evaluate, plan, and implement change and process improvements in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Improve practices and ensure buy in for new ways of working
  • Analyse problems, weigh up a range of options to identify accessible and inclusive solutions and translate complex issues into clear and understandable goals and targets for Deakin
  • Actively encourage and coach others to question traditional assumptions, promote ideas and review practices and policies and translate into tangible change and workplace improvements

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience supporting projects within a large scale and complex organisation
  • Knowledge of systems, process and business improvement capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively design, develop and implement change initiatives
  • Experience designing effective solutions to complex business and technical problems
  • Appropriate change methodology certification
