About the role:

The Senior Consultant, Data Modelling is responsible for providing expert guidance and support in designing, implementing, and optimising data architecture frameworks that align with the organisation's strategic objectives. The Senior Consultant, Data Modelling plays a key role in managing data model design and implementation, advising stakeholders, and driving improvements in data management practices.

As a Senior Consultant, Data Modelling you will:

  • Design, optimise, and maintain scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models, schemas, and architectures to ensure that organisational data is organised, accessible, and secure across systems. Monitor and assess performance, identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Ensure data models align with the organisation’s strategic objectives and support its academic, research, and administrative functions.
  • Work collaboratively with teams to develop, establish, maintain and publish data standards, Data Platform data models, data dictionaries and associated metadata.
  • Define extract and import logic to create the transformations (ETL or ELT) into and within the Data Platform and support resolution of related workflow and data verification process matters
  • Manage the data modelling component of data architecture projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet organisational requirements.
  • Support the integration of data across various systems, ensuring consistency and reliability of data, contribute to master data management (MDM) mapping to enhance data alignment and quality across platforms.                                                                                                                                                                                 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in data modelling, with a proven track record of service delivery to meet client expectations.
  • Experience in designing and implementing Inmon and Kimball style data models and frameworks.
  • Experience with Erwin Data Modelling tool.
