Deakin is the first University in the world to open an international teaching campus in India. The state-of-the-art campus opened in 2024 in the heart of the smart business district, GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City). This campus is giving students access to future-ready Deakin postgraduate courses aligned with local employment needs since July 2024. The programs here will directly support Deakin’s aspiration for innovative international education partnerships that provide lasting value for students, partners, and Deakin. As a Senior Manager, Campus Operations you will:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across campus functions, including infrastructure, IT, student services, library, marketing, and event management, ensuring alignment with Deakin’s global standards and regional priorities.
- Build and inspire a culture of integrity, accountability and inclusive practice across Deakin to ensure alignment of all functional and operational business plans to Deakin’s strategic plan. Create an environment where staff feel valued, included and want to do their best to achieve University priorities.
- Lead financial planning, reporting, and transactional oversight for the GIFT City campus, managing budgets, resource allocation, and serving as signing authority on official documentation in compliance with institutional and IFSCA and other regulators.
- Oversee campus compliance and regulatory engagement, including liaison with IFSCA and GIFT City authorities, and preparation of formal communications to senior external stakeholders.
- Manage infrastructure and property operations, including vendor relationships, IT maintenance, and campus facilities, ensuring continuity, safety, and readiness through robust business continuity planning and OH&S compliance.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications with 10 years or more experience in higher education administration, campus operations, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience in operational management across higher education campus functions such as infrastructure, IT, student services, marketing, event coordination, and regulatory compliance.

- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budget oversight, and contract lifecycle management, including serving as signing authority on official documentation.
