As a Teaching Fellow, you will:

  • Deliver high‑quality, innovative, and inclusive teaching by applying effective pedagogical practices, integrating industry/clinical/research knowledge, and designing accessible learning materials that support diverse learners’ success and engagement.
  • Collaborate within teaching teams to design, review, and refine unit curricula, professional/clinical learning experiences, assessments, and learning resources, ensuring they remain research‑informed, contemporary, and aligned across the course.
  • Develop and evaluate assessments and feedback practices that clearly demonstrate learning outcomes, while monitoring, adapting, and improving assessment strategies to enhance student learning and achievement.
  • Contribute to educational excellence and scholarship by engaging in pedagogical research, supporting the professional development of colleagues, advancing teaching capability, and integrating contemporary scholarship into teaching practice.
  • Engage with the University and broader community through citizenship activities, building industry/clinical partnerships, supporting students including those on placement and contributing to Deakin’s strategic objectives and community impact.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A PhD or equivalent professional standing in a relevant field, with a strong record of scholarly learning and teaching in psychology research methods.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with the ability to apply effective, student‑centred teaching practices that enhance learning, success, and engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the proven ability to work collaboratively in teams and contribute to a collegial, positive work environment.
  • Capability to support students effectively, including providing timely, constructive feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student learning and professional practice, with the ability to build productive working relationships and guide students academically.
