About this role:
The Coordinator, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) leads the delivery of WIL, industry engagement and graduate employability initiatives across nominated areas within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment. The role builds and maintains strong partnerships with industry, government and not-for-profit organisations to create high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate placement opportunities. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Manager, Work Integrated Learning to support and guide the relevant academics in developing and scaffolding WIL into Course pedagogy based on industry feedback and best practice.
As a Coordinator, Work Integrated Learning, you will:
- Coordinate end-to-end Work Integrated Learning (WIL) operations, including agreements, applications, documentation and reporting, ensuring compliance with University policy, legal, insurance and risk requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across faculties, legal, risk and professional services to ensure WIL processes and documentation meet institutional standards and support effective placement delivery.
- Act as an escalation point for complex or sensitive WIL matters, applying sound judgement to resolve issues and support students and host organisations.
- Maintain accurate, auditable records and reporting frameworks, using data and insights to monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of WIL systems, workflows and team capability by supporting standardised processes, compliance awareness and collaborative planning.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A relevant degree with substantial subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and extensive experience, preferably within Life and Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including academic and professional staff, students, industry, government and community partners.
- Strong ability to analyse, interpret and clearly communicate complex information, tailoring advice and recommendations to a range of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience operating effectively within complex organisational environments, with sound knowledge of administrative structures, policies and procedures, ideally in higher education.
- A student-centred approach supported by experience in student advising, career education, knowledge of the graduate employment landscape, and the ability to negotiate and manage stakeholder agreements.
