About the Project
Addressing Gender-based Violence in Volatile and Polarising Times
This project investigates how Australian schools can transform gendered digital cultures through education. It responds to escalating concerns about digital harms such as misogyny, image-based abuse, and gender-based violence by examining how teachers, leaders, and students understand and enact gender justice across online and offline contexts. Expected outcomes include new national evidence on the pedagogical, cultural, and policy conditions that enable schools to foster ethical, inclusive, and equitable digital participation. The benefits will include curriculum, professional learning, and policy guidance to strengthen educators’ capacity to build gender-just and safe digital cultures for all young people.
