About the role:
- Responsible for the financial integrity of the Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet
- Maintaining oversight of Fixed Asset / capital works / work in progress accounting and reconciliation
- Performing allocated reconciliations and review reconciliations done by team members to ensure no unreconciled items greater than 1 month in age
- Ensuring continuous compliance with all applicable Accounting Standards
- Working with the Manager of Financial Accounting to proactively identify updates to Accounting Standards, Guidance Notes, practices and principles, ensuring changes are communicated and implemented as required, in close consultation with the external auditor
- Responsible for the completion of EOM as well as assisting with year-end financial close
About You
The Senior Financial Accountant – Part Time supports the Manager, Financial Accounting by undertaking end-of-month journals and balance sheet reconciliations, typically across a two-week engagement each month. The role contributes to the accurate and timely delivery of statutory and regulatory financial reporting for Amana Living and its associated entities.
The position ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, guidance notes, practices, and principles, as well as supporting taxation requirements and maintaining a strong internal control environment. The Senior Financial Accountant works collaboratively within the Finance team, providing support and technical expertise while contributing to a culture of inclusiveness, collaboration, and teamwork.
What You Need:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor’s degree)
- CA / CPA qualified, or Australia recognised equivalent with relevant professional memberships
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and skills demonstrated through prior experience in a similar role
- Advanced computer skills (excel, word and database management)
- Aged care experience in a similar capacity is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal
Essential Requirements:
- National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 6 months) or NDIS (Worker’s Screening) Check
- Proof of current influenza vaccination as per Amana Living policies
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical
