About the Role
Amana Living is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Accounts Receivable Officer with strong debt collection experience. This role is essential in supporting our Senior Accounts Receivable and Financial Accounting team, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding accounts while maintaining respectful and compassionate communication with residents, families, and staff.
This position requires a balance of financial precision and emotional intelligence, especially when dealing with sensitive situations involving aged care clients.
Key Responsibilities
Debt Collection
- Generate and maintain Debtors’ Reports across all business lines
- Monitor overdue accounts and initiate follow-ups
- Liaise with internal AR team and external debt collection agencies
- Communicate recommendations and outcomes to management
- Manage the Debt Collection inbox efficiently
Payments & Receipting
- Process payments via phone and bank statements
- Accurately allocate payments to appropriate accounts
Resident & Staff Support
- Assist residents and families with account queries
- Respond to general AR-related inquiries with professionalism and empathy
- Provide backup support to team members when required
General Duties
- Handle correspondence, filing, and other administrative tasks
- Perform other duties as directed by the Senior Accounts Receivable Officer or Team Lead
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in debt collection and accounts receivable
- Proven technical competence and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to communicate with empathy and discretion
Essential Requirements
- National Police Clearance Certificate (issued within the last 6 months)
- Proof of current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations (as per Amana Living policy)
- WA C Class Driver’s License (if applicable)
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical questionnaire and reference checks
