About the Opportunity

The Head of Finance: School Operations is responsible for the strategic oversight and continuous improvement of financial governance and operations across 27 Shared Funded Schools. The role ensures high-quality delivery of budgeting, audit, statutory compliance, and treasury functions, in alignment with Catholic Education Tasmania (CET)’s mission and evolving funding frameworks.

About You

As the Head of Finance: School Operations, you will possess your CPA/CA qualification and have at least 5 years' experience leading high-performing finance teams with a strong focus on efficiency, compliance, and strategic financial management.

As the Head of Finance: School Operations, you will:

  • Build capability through strategic leadership and mentoring.
  • Oversee financial governance, compliance and audit.
  • Develop system budgeting and funding alignment.
  • Oversee financial reporting and sustainability.
  • Support treasury management and capital debt servicing fund oversight.
  • Undertake process improvement and systems optimisation.
  • Support governance, risk and change management.
