Position:                                              Library Technician

Tenure                                                 0.92 FTE – Limited Tenure
                                                           Leave Replacement

                                                           76 hours per fortnight

                                                           8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday (Term Time Only)

Commencement:                                 Start date negotiable – 10 July 2026 

About our College:

Sacred Heart College is a Kindergarten to Year 10 Co-educational Catholic College based on the charism of the Sisters of St Joseph located in the central Hobart suburb of New Town.

As a Josephite College with an enrolment of over 980 students, we work to provide our students with a well-rounded Catholic education, encouraging a life-long love of learning.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will work as part of a supportive and dynamic team with our Library Services team to provide a welcoming study environment, promote a love and culture of reading, offer reading suggestions, assist students in locating resources, plan and carry out events, responding to queries and other administrative tasks.

To be eligible applicants require:

  • Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania);
  • Certificate III in Library and information services or equivalent;
  • A willingness to work in a team environment; and
  • A demonstrated genuine commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
