The Opportunity
The Public Contracting Manager will work closely with hospital executives, public health departments at state and local levels, and industry leaders. They will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing publicly funded opportunities, supporting the achievement of Ramsay Health Care Australia's strategic and operational objectives as an integrated healthcare provider.
About You
To excel in this role, you must effectively manage the public contract lifecycle and demonstrate expertise in payor relations, modelling, and data analytics. Your ability to assist Executives in optimising revenue, billing, profitability, driving innovation, and improving patient outcomes will be key to your success.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:
- Ensure alignment with the negotiation tolerance, priorities, principles, and strategic goals of the Public Contracting function.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations for contract implementation, offering process, technical, and documentation support to Payor Relations and operational teams.
- Monitor contract rights, obligations, and operations, developing strategies to maximise opportunities and minimise risks.
- Develop and execute plans to mitigate risks and seize opportunities.
- Provide leadership, manage stakeholder relationships, and represent the organisation within the industry.
- Oversee the public contract library, ensuring thorough contract management.
- Support the National Manager and Executives in analysing data and identifying commercial opportunities.
- Investigate innovative funding models to reduce risk and capture new market opportunities.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong understanding of the health industry’s macro environment, including the challenges and opportunities faced by hospital operators.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or a related field, and/or practical experience in managing revenue generation within the healthcare sector.
- Deep knowledge of revenue operations in large, complex organisations, including awareness of financial challenges, risks, and cost drivers.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing team performance.
- Skilled in analysing complex issues, drawing relevant conclusions, implementing solutions, and effectively prioritising tasks.
- Experience in conducting commercial modelling for pricing strategies.
- Prior experience in negotiating and managing healthcare contracts.
- Expertise in developing innovative funding models, with a solid understanding of health case mix protocols and private healthcare reporting requirements.
