About the Role

An exciting opportunity for a proactive Clinical Nurse to lead, support and motivate at our Early Parenting Centre.

You will be an experienced clinician and play an integral role in the parenting team and provide support for families with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months.

We also provide personalised assistance for feeding difficulties, infant sleep disorders, irritability, reflux and colic, maternal confidence and anxiety and adjusting to parenting.

 

Working alongside an experience team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating patient care using clinical pathways, clinical outcome plans and risk assessment tools.
  • Assessing patient needs delivering tailored support and education to patients and their families.
  • Collaborating with the Clinical Nurse Manager to develop, implement and evaluate the unit-training program in alignment with organisational and departmental strategic plans.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset working alongside families, with experience working in Child and Family Health and/or infant/ perinatal Mental Health.

Successful candidates will meet the following criteria;

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum five years of postgraduate experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Diploma or other relevant qualifications in Child and Family Health and/or Mental Health Nursing; or working towards similar.
  • Ability to be flexible with shifts.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting families with breastfeeding, sleep and settling, transition to solids, play and development and adjustment to parenting.

Candidates who meet the following criteria will be highly regarded:

  • IBCLE (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant);
  • Group facilitation skills;
  • Robust understanding of perinatal, child health and/or mental health adjustment issues;
  • Training in Circle of Security;
  • Sound computer literacy in Microsoft software programs; and
  • Qualified Child Health Nurse.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
