About the role

You will be joining our Jim Gordon, and is a 30-bed surgical ward. Main specialities include Urology and Gynaecology. We also accommodate overflow General Surgery patients.

You will assist the CNM with the leadership and management of the ward, including but limited to:

  • Supervises nursing practice and takes responsibility for standard of nursing care delivered.
  • Acts a clinical resource, maintains and develops clinical skills relevant to area of practice.
  • Leading and supporting the nursing team members whilst working alongside a passionate multidisciplinary team.
  • Problem solving, fostering a positive and supportive culture, and providing dedicated and specialised advice to team members.
  • Perform accurate and comprehensive patient assessment to address short and long-term needs.
  • Participate in the role of A/CNM as required.
  • Prioritises departmental workloads using resources appropriately and cost effectively.

 

About You

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • You will hold registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with high level of communication skills and significant recent post-registration experience, with the ability to practice at an advanced level. You will have well-developed leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, give direction and delegate to the team and the ability to plan, assess and develop team and individual performance.
  • Minimum 4 years’ post graduate experience, with at least 2 years’ experience working in Surgical Ward or 1 year experience with an appropriate post graduate qualification
  • Ability to act as a positive role model with excellent communication and delegation skills
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patient
  • Preceptorship experience and a compassionate approach to mentoring students and novice nurses

 

Remuneration: On offer is a full-time equivalent, base annual salary ranging from $101,393.65 - $107,728.19 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4)

Requirements
