About the role
The Data & Insights team at Ramsay Health Care are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Data Analyst and/or SQL Developer to join our Data Engineering team!
This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for supporting our Data team in delivering data-driven solutions and insights to support various operational or strategic decision-makers. You will support the data engineering team to migrate and support key data sources such as MS SQL Server databases into GCP BigQuery and PowerBI.
The successful candidate will be joining us in a 2-year, fixed term full-time contract.
Key Role Accountabilities
- Evaluate the quality, integrity, and completeness of data earmarked for migration, identifying any potential issues or gaps
- Work closely with other departments to develop data products that deliver insights and address key business needs
- Collaborate with the data architect and technical team to establish clear rules dictating how data will be mapped and transformed from the source to the target system
- Collect, analyse, interpret and provide insights from large, complex data sets
- Utilise strong understanding of statistical techniques and software tools
- Communicate effectively to various stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Be inquisitive – delve into the problem, ask the right questions and think creatively to problem-solve efficiently
Key Skills and Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in data analysis or a related field. Two (2) of them as Data Analyst or SQL Developer
- Must have experience in data, logic, and dashboards migration to another system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Extensive experience working with databases and querying languages (e.g., SQL, T-SQL) to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for analysis
- Demonstrated experience in utilising SQL and/or BigQuery.
- Proven knowledge of PowerBI and maintaining dashboards
- Basic understanding of the Healthcare, Financial or FMCG industry including relevant terminology, business processes, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Highly regarded, though not essential
- Experience with healthcare data and/or working in a healthcare organisation. Can provide context and insights that enhance the relevance and impact of data analysis efforts
- Knowledge of data engineering principles and tools for data pipeline development, data warehousing, and data integration can streamline the process of preparing and transforming data for analysis
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform can facilitate scalable data storage, processing, and analysis in cloud environments
- Proficiency in using Power BI, can enhance data visualization capabilities and enable interactive reporting and dashboarding for stakeholders.
