About the role
An enthusiastic and motivated person is required for our day surgery unit.
Key responsibilities of this job include:
- Managing incoming and outgoing calls to the ward
- Provide timely and accurate information to queries by patients, visitors and other staff and departments
- Work alongside medical staff, colleagues, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients
- Compilation and management of patient admission papers and clinical notes.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will be an effective and approachable administrative professional with a passion for client care and a high standard of customer-focused service in line with Ramsay's core values.
- Demonstrated one year experience in a medical administrative role
- Demonstrated excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience with patient chart filing and chart auditing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure and maintain good working relationships with others
- Exceptional organisation skills and a high attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes
- A Medical Terminology Certificate or proof of recent in house use of same would be advantageous
- Advanced computer skills using MS Office
- Any experience with Patient Management Systems (specifically Meditech and Medtech 32) will be highly regarded
- Previous hospital experience would be advantageous.
About the role
We pride ourselves on having a wonderful team of clinical and support staff who, as a group, have achieved over 1300 years of personal and warm clinical care to patients at Kareena Private Hospital.
Kareena caters for a full range of specialties including cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, geriatric medicine, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, ophthalmology, paediatrics, respiratory medicine and vascular surgery. Radiology and pathology services are also available on site.

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
