About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a dedicated and experienced nurse to join our team as Nurse Unit Manager at Caloundra Private Day Surgery. Our newly renovated facility has three operating theatres, with a focus on Endoscopy and Ophthalmology specialties.
You will oversee day-to-day clinical and operational management of the Day Surgery Unit including:
- Accountability for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources
- Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to your team
- Working with and supporting other managers of the perioperative group as well as the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes
- Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
About You
You thrive on problem solving, fostering a positive and supportive culture, and providing dedicated and specialised advice to your team members.
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Competent in supervising, leading, directing and motivating staff to achieve excellent outcomes
- Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in acute care environment
- Demonstrated extensive clinical skills and experience within a perioperative environment
- Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff
- Ophthalmology experience and/or post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
