About the role

The Senior Security Engineer is a hands-on technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and improving security controls and infrastructure to protect Ramsay Health Care's digital assets and operations. Working within a collaborative and customer-centric team, this role supports the delivery of secure technology outcomes across Ramsay's complex healthcare environment.

The Senior Security Engineer will be a specialist in the CrowdStrike platform and will drive the maturity of our security tooling and services (SIEM, EDR/XDR, PAM, Vulnerability Management, Cloud Security) and support the broader cyber program by delivering technical solutions, resolving security incidents, and enabling secure technology transformation.

This role requires strong technical expertise, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with technology, clinical, and business stakeholders.

This is a permanent full-time role located in Sydney – NSW.

 

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a security engineer or related role.
  • General experience with Google Cloud Platform, Incident Response, Incident Management, Bash Scripting, Microsoft PowerShell, Scripting, Vulnerability Management, SIEM Tools, Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity Access Management (IAM), Endpoint Security, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Proxy Servers, Networks, Firewalls, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security
  • Proven experience with CrowdStrike Falcon platform, including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Identity Protection modules.
  • High degree of knowledge in security structures.
  • Experience working with highly sensitive data.
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
  • Well versed in the latest trends and techniques for building data pipelines for analytical/machine learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated high level analytical, design and problem-solving skills within a complex IT environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability in writing detailed and accurate technical documentation
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong customer service skills and a commitment to excellence
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Operational Technology (OT) Security, DevSecOps, Healthcare IT Systems, Agile Methodology (optional)
