The Role

We have an exciting and highly rewarding opportunity for an experienced hospital administrator to join us. We have multiple casual positions available.

At the heart of the department, the Administration staff play a crucial role. As the initial point of contact for patients and families, you will not only facilitate essential paperwork for admission, pre-admissions, and billing but also set the tone for a welcoming and supportive experience.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a professional, efficient, and customer-focused service across our front-of-house areas, with a key focus on admissions and inpatient ward administration.

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing incoming and outgoing calls to the ward.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to queries by patients, visitors and other staff and departments.
  • Work alongside medical staff, colleagues, patients and visitors to ensure a smooth hospital experience for patients.
  • Compilation and management of patient admission papers and clinical notes.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and enjoys being part of a busy ward. Your ability to converse and be empathetic while managing a busy flow of admissions and discharges is a key skill needed for this role.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Experience either in a medical administration setting or a patient-facing role.
  • Experience with Patient Management Systems will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in and communication with a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

  • Certificate in Medical Terminology.
  • Experience in hospital mainframes systems. 

 

Remuneration

A base hourly rate of $28.75 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications.

Requirements
