What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:

  • Defining and maintaining the negotiation tolerance, priorities, principles, and strategic objectives of the Public Contracting function.
  • Leading the consultation, design, evaluation, and negotiation of public sector payor contracts with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to implement contracts, while supporting Payor Relations and operational teams with necessary process, technical, and documentation changes.
  • Monitoring the performance of contractual rights and obligations, managing plans to optimise opportunities, and mitigating risks.
  • Developing and executing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities within public sector contracts.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operational activities for effective public contract management, including resolving disputes and ensuring administrative performance obligations are met.
  • Providing contract interpretation, guidance, and training to internal teams on public sector contracting.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation in public contracting to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Conducting detailed analysis in response to emerging issues and market trends, developing strategies, and providing actionable recommendations.

What You’ll Bring

As a champion of The Ramsay Way - ‘People Caring for People’, you excel in team leadership and problem-solving, with strong skills in negotiation, funding models, and relationship management, along with the ability to navigate organisational change. Additionally, you will:

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience in managing public sector revenue generation.
  • Have proven experience in negotiating and managing public sector healthcare contracts.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the public health industry’s macro environment, including the challenges and opportunities it presents for hospital operators.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of revenue operations in large, complex organisations, with a clear understanding of the challenges, risks, and cost drivers that impact financial performance in the public sector.
  • Demonstrate the ability to systematically analyse complex issues, draw actionable conclusions, and implement effective solutions while prioritising accordingly.
  • Have extensive experience in leading teams and managing performance.
  • Bring expertise in developing innovative funding models, with a strong understanding of health case mix protocol data and public healthcare reporting requirements.
  • Possess advanced relationship management, consultation, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a proven track record in working effectively with public sector stakeholders.
