The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity exists for Allied Health Assistants to join our Multidisciplinary Team in a part time capacity. You will work under the guidance and direction of our supportive Occupational Therapists within our Rehabilitation and Acute stream services.
Duties will include:
- Provide therapy in individualised and group settings in the Allied Health treatment areas, on the ward, and within the therapy rooms. This may include dressing practice, showering practice, self-care activities, kitchen and ADL activities.
- Preparation of therapy areas, equipment, and materials.
- Assisting in patient escorting/transport to and from Gymnasium and therapy areas.
- Assisting in departmental / service administrative tasks and maintaining resources.
- Inspecting and maintaining rehabilitation equipment for safety and function.
Skills and Experience
This role will suit a patient-focused individual with experience in patient manual handling along with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a professional team environment will also be key to your success.
You will also demonstrate:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team or health service industry is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High standard of customer service and a team approach.
- Flexible and positive approach to work.
Remuneration
On offer is hourly base salary ranging from $28.33 - $29.31 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
