About the Role
The Food Services Assistant (FSA) plays a key role in delivering high-quality food service to patients, residents, staff, or students. The FSA is responsible for assisting in food preparation, tray or meal service, dishwashing, cleaning duties, and ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, plate, and assemble meals and meal trays based on dietary requirements
- Deliver meals and beverages to designated areas (e.g., wards, dining rooms)
- Assist with basic food preparation under the direction of qualified staff
- Clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and food service areas
- Operate dishwashing machines and clean utensils, trays, and cooking tools
- Maintain food safety and hygiene practices in line with HACCP guidelines
- Handle and store food safely, including labelling and dating items
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- Follow daily cleaning schedules and record-keeping requirements
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, clinical teams, and residents/customers
- Respect individual dietary needs, cultural preferences, and allergen management procedures
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

- Understanding of safe food handling and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a physically active role, including standing and lifting
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Remuneration:
Base Hourly Rate in accordance with Enterprise Agreement + Casual Loading + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
