About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Educator will play a key role in providing direct clinical support, supervision, instruction, and mentoring to both graduate nurses and staff.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver evidence-based education, training, and support to staff and students in the Medical and Surgical Departments.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate learning and development programs across the facility.
  • Actively contribute to the hospital’s ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Nurse Educator Responsibilities

You will provide clinical education, supervision, and support to nursing students completing placements from recognised tertiary education providers. Shifts are scheduled during early and late periods from Monday to Friday, with no weekend or overnight work required.

You will work closely with Nurse Unit Managers, trained Preceptors, and the broader Education team to deliver high-quality clinical support, education, and assessment in line with the hospital’s undergraduate nursing program.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a senior Registered Nurse with strong clinical expertise, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and respond effectively in a dynamic environment. You will demonstrate advanced skills in nursing assessment and clinical decision-making.

Your approach to learning is innovative and engaging, and you are committed to delivering patient-centred care and outstanding service, aligned with the hospital’s values.

 

 You will also demonstrate:

  • Relevant nursing registration with AHPRA.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ post registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment / Postgraduate in Nursing Education or equivalent is desirable.
  • Completion of Preceptorship Program highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in an education/preceptor role advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently where required.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate groups of students across various year levels.
  • Strong understanding of basic computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Renumeration: On offer is $54.72 - $58.82 + superannuation + based on experience (Level 2 RN).

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
