The Opportunity
Ramsay Surgical Centre (RSC), a division of Ramsay Health Care, manages day and short-stay surgical hospitals. As Ramsay focuses on delivering dedicated services in this space, it is essential to have infection control processes specifically designed for this unique environment.
We are seeking a part-time Infection Control Co-ordinator to support Ramsay Surgical Centres by streamlining and designing workflows tailored to this environment, while coordinating and driving initiatives at the site level.
The role will support Ramsay’s existing surgical centres and also the commissioning of the greenfield surgical sites under development, and into the future.
This role has no direct reports, while reporting to the National CEO – Ramsay Surgical Centres with site-specific reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and General Manager for each site.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement an infection control framework tailored to day and short-stay hospitals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant infection prevention standards, legislation, and guidelines.
- Create site-specific infection control policies, audit tools, and schedules.
- Provide timely data and reporting to support clinical and operational decision-making.
- Support sites in maintaining a strong infection prevention culture and safe clinical practice.
- Coordinate education and training in infection control at site level.
- Prepare and support sites through infection control aspects of accreditation processes.
What You’ll Bring
As a representative of The Ramsay Way, you’ll be collaborative, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement. You will also bring:
- 5+ years of experience in a peri-operative environment.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, including sterilising services.
- A sound knowledge of private hospital operations and relevant legislative requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- A proactive and supportive approach to working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with the unique needs of day and short-stay surgical hospitals.
Note: This role requires occasional travel, including quarterly site visits and additional support during accreditation preparation periods.
