About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated and experienced Nurse to join our dynamic team.
The Recovery Registered Nurse (PACU RN) provides critical care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical or other invasive procedures. The PACU RN assesses patients’ post-operative status, manages pain, monitors vital signs, and ensures patient safety and comfort until discharge from the unit or transfer to a medical-surgical floor or DPU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, consciousness levels, and surgical sites immediately following surgery or procedures.
- Provide airway management, oxygen therapy, and pain/nausea control as needed.
- Assess post-anesthesia recovery progress and respond to any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to ensure quality post-operative care.
- Administer medications as ordered and document patient responses
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic health records
About You
Your Skills and Experience
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an acute care hospital environment
- Minimum of 1 year experience within the Recovery or PACU
- Available to work across a 7 day rotating roster and take part in on call duties
- Any postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Remuneration: On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $36.13 - $ 49.96 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (VIC RN/Midwife gr1-gr8)

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
