About the role

The Strategy Associate role will join our growing Group Health & Strategy Team to help deliver the Ramsay 2030 Strategy. Working closely with the Group Strategy Team, Group Chief Health & Strategy Officer and Australian and Group CXO and Senior Management, you will have the opportunity to define and own strategic workstreams for Ramsay’s next stage of growth and implement them into everyday business operations.

In particular, you will help support:

  • Strategy – including owning Strategic Workstreams in the Ramsay 2030 Strategy
  • Operations – including driving operating cadence and rhythm to guide decision making, align leadership teams and encourage cross-functional collaboration
  • Strategic Projects – including identification and execution of rapid, one-off projects of strategic importance (e.g. M&A, partnerships)

Whilst the focus of this role will primarily be on the Australian business, you will have the opportunity to also contribute to developing strategies and improving performance in Ramsay’s overseas businesses.

To be successful in the role, you will have a love of data, analysis, process and storytelling, an ability to thrive in uncertain, rapidly evolving environments, and the confidence to surface unpopular recommendations and drive difficult decisions where necessary.

About you

  1. Strong conceptual and quantitative problem-solving skills: You will be expected to solve a range of problems, often in uncertain, fast-paced environments with limited information. You will be hypothesis driven to help get to an answer and move forwards quickly
  2. Initiative and drive: You will be expected to show strong initiative and drive, always knowing the next step and moving things forward at high pace with little managerial oversight and direction. You also know when to raise issues that require attention and buy in from senior stakeholders
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills: You will have to present information to and work effectively with diverse people from all across the business, moving from detailed to executive level views to develop succinct, convincing C-level presentations
  4. Generalist skillset and learning attitude: This role will give you a “front-row seat” across the entirety of Ramsay’s business. You are expected to be able to learn from and work collaboratively with others to deliver results
  5. Excellent slide making and quantitative skills, and a background in cost-benefit models, business case development, KPI tracking/reporting and market analysis (including using MS PowerPoint and Excel)
  6. 3-5 years professional experience in a relevant field, such as strategy, management consulting, corporate development, hospital operations, corporate venture, venture capital, investment banking or similar.

Desirable

  1. Health care and/or transformation experience
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, Management or another related field
  3. Experience with cloud-based data storage and analytics platforms, preferably with Google Cloud Platform including BigQuery, and/or TM1
  4. Demonstrated experience utilising SQL, VBA and Python or R
  5. Understanding of data lifecycle including but not limited to data ingestion, Extract-Transform-Load, data storage & joining, management of data projects, and data quality / integrity checks
