About the Role
Joining our team in this opportunity will see you provide a comprehensive detail orientated service to our patients, clinicians and theatre staff and be responsible for all bookings and administrative duties related to the Operating Theatres.
As a part-time Theatre Bookings clerk, you will benefit from shift flexibility and the resulting wellbeing of a work life balance.
Business Hours: Monday to Friday 0600 – 2130 & Saturday to Sunday 0730 - 2130
Principal Responsibilities
- Coordination of theatre bookings for private and public patients, elective and emergency.
- Communication with Surgeons and Theatre staff.
- Wait listing of all public elective surgical patients.
- Data entry of theatre utilisation
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in customer service for all customers and a commitment to continuous improvement in customer service.
- Respond to telephone, email and face to face enquiries from doctors, customers and ward areas.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have excellent attention to detail, excellent time management and demonstrate advanced computer and typing skills. As a shift worker, the role requires the flexibility and availability to work across a Monday – Sunday roster.
In addition, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to manage conflicting priorities. You will also have exceptional communication skills both verbally and in writing with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders at all levels to achieve positive and timely outcomes.
Essential:
- Intermediate-advanced skills utilising the Microsoft office suite and other computer functions with ability to maintain data entry accuracy.
- Ability to increase work hours for annual or sick leave cover
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Proven ability to work in a customer service focused environment
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to follow written instructions as directed
Desirable:
- Previous medical administration (highly desirable)
- Experience with patient management systems, ie. Meditech
