The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced senior nursing professional to take on an exciting clinical management role in our rehabilitation leadership team at Donvale Rehabilitation Hospital as a Nurse Unit Manager. You will work as part of a cohesive and experienced multidisciplinary teams to support staff to achieve excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational clinical and resource management, with a focus on quality and patient safety, staff development and providing support to staff whilst ensuring a high standard of clinical practice is maintained. This is a key leadership role reporting into the Chief Executive Officer/ Director of Clinical Services where you will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses and clinical support staff so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for the efficient and effective management of all human and material resources
  • Be a positive mentor and provide clinical leadership and support to your team
  • Working with and supporting other managers within the wider hospital community in achieving excellence in patient outcomes 
  • Assist in shaping organisational strategy, improve procedural service provision and achieve departmental and Hospital strategic objectives
  • Provide clinical support and care to our patients on the ward

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical leadership skill set in a hospital setting either as a Nursing Manager in a similar department or as a senior nurse wanting to step into a management role. You will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and mentor your team. You will be a leader with a passion for seeing your team members succeed and grow while bringing a strong commitment to outstanding patient care and service.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 8 years post graduate experience in acute or rehabilitation nursing
  • Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff 
  • Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of outcomes
  • WHS responsibility and leadership in risk minimisation
  • Ongoing activity analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and experience in implementing sustainable change.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
