We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for education to join our team as a Clinical Facilitator (CF). This unique role focuses on bedside teaching, supervision, and assessment of Year 4 and 5 MD students during their surgical rotation placements.

As the Clinical Facilitator for the Bond Medical students, you will play a vital part in bridging the gap between theory and practice, guiding students in developing the skills, confidence, and professionalism required for their transition into clinical practice and future internship.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective supervision through coaching, role-modelling, debriefing, and feedback.
  • Support students in developing clinical skills, reasoning, communication, and patient-centred care.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities with patients and promote peer-to-peer learning.
  • Contribute to students’ work-based assessments and clinical handover practice.
  • Prepare students for ward-based responsibilities including documentation, teamwork, procedural skills, and family communication.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with students, clinical supervisors, Bond faculty, and hospital staff.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance teaching and supervision skills.
  • Support evaluation of the CF program and contribute to educational innovation.
  • Promote cultural awareness and sensitivity in all students and staff interactions.

 

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-registration clinical experience, including surgical ward experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, support, and assess students in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant Nursing Specialty, Nursing Education, or Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
  • Completion of a Preceptorship Program.
  • Previous experience as a preceptor, clinical educator, or facilitator.
  • Experience facilitating group discussions and clinical teaching in higher education or hospital environments.
  • Evidence of contribution to educational innovation, assessment development, or research in clinical education.

Remuneration: An hourly rate $58.82 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD Registered Nurse - Level 2 Year 4).

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
