About the role

As an experienced Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee our 21-bed adult mental health unit and 6-bed perinatal unit.

In this role you will coordinate the admissions and discharge processes of the departments, and the daily management of nursing staff and other human resources.

Your Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset, with recent management, with experience in the mental health nursing specialty area.

You will have exceptional communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent client care and customer service.

Essential criteria;

  • Relevant qualifications and registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ post graduate nursing experience
  • Proven knowledge as a senior nurse or manager in a mental health setting
  • Management or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded.
  • Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management.
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources

 

Remuneration

On offer is a base hourly rate of $64.48 + Superannuation based on qualifications and experience. Exclusive of penalties and allowances.

About Our Hospital

Mitcham Private Hospital is a fully accredited, 121 bed acute medical, surgical, maternity and mental health facility, providing for the healthcare needs of Melbourne’s outer eastern communities. Victoria Court is a new purpose built, 21 bed adult mental health unit, providing both adult inpatient and outpatient programs, as well as onsite private psychiatrist consulting rooms. The Perinatal Mental health unit is a boutique 6 bed unit to assist with all perinatal mental health admission needs for both antenatal and postnatal up to 12months post birth in a quiet and specialised environment.
