Registrar – Medical Education (Physicians Training)

1 FTE - February 2025

 

Joondalup Health Campus, (JHC) is a 722-bed facility owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care, Australia’s largest private hospital operator. Treating both public and private patients, JHC provides comprehensive acute medical care to the community within Perth’s rapidly expanding northern corridor. Salary range:  $139,932 – $214,046 inclusive of 11.5% superannuation and Professional Development Leave

 

The Position:

This position has been created at JHC to enhance physician training. The Medical Education Registrar (Physicians Training) will assist with the professional and educational development of BPTs and be involved with some of the Hospital’s strategic committees.  There will also be a requirement to spend part of their time (up to 0.5 FTE) in clinical medicine.

 

What we are looking for:

Essential Criteria

  • Eligibility for registration by the Medical Board of Australia
  • Significant progress towards attaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians
  • Advanced trainee status or significant progress towards an advanced trainee position in a recognised speciality. Details of relevant training and experience.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills at an individual and team level. Must be able to show an ability to get on with colleagues and work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities with the ability and the experience to pass on knowledge to the Hospital’s junior medical staff.
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to quality assurance. This requires a commitment to and on-going involvement in the quality assurance parameters set by the Hospital.
  • Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrate clear interest in medical education.
  • Demonstrate interest in research processes.  This requires an interest in and commitment to on-going clinical research.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
