About the Role

Kareena Private Hospital is looking for a casual Exercise Physiologist 2-3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for the assessment of patients, prescription of exercises and supervising patient exercise programs. You will be working across day rehabilitation and outpatient settings with a wide range of patients including cardiac, oncology, musculoskeletal, reconditioning, and neurological conditions.

Duties

• Delivering therapy in individualised, group and hydrotherapy settings
• Delivering educational sessions to different population groups
• Patient assessments and exercise prescription
• Work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Motivating patients to achieve personal goals and improve their health

About You

To be successful in the role you will be a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. 

Essential Skills and Experience

• Bachelor of Exercise Physiology or 4-year equivalent
• Accredited Member with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
• Exceptional time management skills
• Experience in functional assessments for a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions
• Experience in conducting exercise conditioning treatment programs
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver quality patient care

 Non-essential but looked upon favourably:

• Experience within the cardiac rehabilitation field
• Experience within the oncology rehabilitation field
• Experience within the orthopaedic rehabilitation field
• Hydrotherapy experience
• Experience working in a hospital or rehabilitation setting

Kareena Private Hospital is a modern 142 bed facility servicing the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas. It is conveniently located directly opposite Sutherland Public Hospital and close to public transport. Kareena Private Hospital is an acute Medical/Surgical facility offering a comprehensive range of services including Rehabilitation, an Intensive Care Unit, as well as Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Requirements

• Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
• According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases, which may include Covid-19.
