Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Cardiac Services Unit

This is a Permanent Part-Time or Full-Time position offering up to 76 hours per fortnight.

About the Role

In this role you will be joining our dynamic Cardiac Services Unit (Coronary Care). We have 36 Cardiac Monitored beds servicing 4 Cardiac Cath Labs. Patient procedures include Complex Cardiac Angiography and Stenting, Pacemakers, EPS Studies & Ablation, Watchman devices, TAVI and Mitral Clip procedures. Cardiothoracic Surgery include Cardiac Bypass and Valve Surgeries. The ward also services acute cardiac patients requiring critical care monitoring including inotrope & anti-arrhythmia therapy and APO treatment.

In this position you will be taking on a key leadership role. You will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager in the efficient management of staff and resources within the unit ensuring achievement of excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures, best practice and legislative requirements. You will also be required to oversee the activities of the unit when the Nurse Unit Manager is absent. You will be mentoring and leading a passionate team of nurses alongside a supportive leadership team so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed. This is a perfect opportunity for a senior nurse to step up into a management role and build a clinical leadership skillset.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset in a hospital setting as a Critical Care Nurse with a passion for patient care and a high standard of customer-focused service in line with Ramsay's core values. You will have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will bring a capacity to lead and inspire a team of clinical professionals empowering nurses of various skillsets.

You will be expected to work a rotating roster including weekends and nightshift rotations.

You will also bring;

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Post Graduate studies in Critical Care or Coronary Care (essential)
  • 3-4 years’ experience in a Coronary Care Unit will be ideal for this role.
  • Any clinical leadership experience or post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded, although not essential.
  • Able to use critical thinking in decision making
  • Management skills and experience
  • Enjoys working in a high paced, busy unit and has an excellent work ethic with a team focus

Peninsula Private Hospital is a comprehensive 344 bed acute emergency, surgical, medical, cardiac and obstetric facility located in the bayside town of Frankston in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs. The hospital currently accommodates a 14 bay emergency department, 226 medical and surgical, 36 cardiac, 11 ICU, 7 Neonatal, 14 Obstetric, and 30 Oncology beds which include 15 day infusion chairs.
