Joondalup Health Campus, Joondalup

Paediatric Department | Maximum Term | Full Time/Part Time

About us

Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) is one of the largest hospitals in Western Australia, treating more than 70,000 inpatients on average annually. Operated by Ramsay Health Care, Australia's largest private hospital operator, JHC provides comprehensive acute medical care to both public and private patients. More information is available at www.joondaluphealthcampus.com.au

Located 25 kilometres north of Perth's CBD, the hospital is well-situated, and its management supports and encourages staff to achieve work-life balance while actively supporting their professional development and careers.

Position Profile

JHC provides both Neonatal and General Paediatric services and has a family-friendly, vibrant 37-bed Telethon Children's Ward, which complements a Level 2B Neonatal Unit.

With more than 4,000 babies born at JHC each year, including a high proportion that are born following high-risk pregnancies, this position will provide substantial experience for the right candidate.

  • We have a significant focus on research, which includes the ORIGINS Project intervention for the community birth cohort.
  • We are accredited with the RACP for advanced training with a neonatal component. We have a strong emphasis on teaching along with a consultant led service.

The paediatric service also encompasses exposure to the paediatric section of the mixed Emergency Department. Furthermore, there is also the ability to explore a shared role with the Joondalup Child Development Centre for the right candidate.

Remuneration:

JHC is looking to employ Registrars with a salary range of $139,305 – $213,086 p.a pro rata (including base salary, 11% superannuation and professional development allowance).

High overnight penalties are paid, and casual contracts are available where possible.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in Paediatrics with exposure to both Neonatal and General Paediatrics
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values.
  • Registered as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority (Medical Board of Australia).
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  • A willingness to work night shifts and supervise junior doctors.

Desirable Criteria

  • Enjoy being involved in research.
  • We are happy to consider all levels of training or service registrars.
