About the Role
The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) role is a new, challenging and highly rewarding role, providing essential support for Ramsay Health Care to undertake a five-year digital transformation journey.
Our vision is to leverage digital technologies and data to improve safety, facilitate quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice activities, enabling Ramsay to evolve our business to adapt to modern healthcare challenges and models of care.
The CIS will be champions for our digital transformation journey and support our clinicians through the transition from an analogue to a digitally enabled care environment, across the breadth and depth of our organisation.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Determine the needs and requirements for digital and data initiatives which have clinical impact
- Support the selection, design, deployment, and support of solutions which deliver the greatest value to RHC clinicians
- Advocate for the appropriate development and implementation of Clinical Information Systems that will affect the provision of care to our patients
- Provide or engage clinicians to provide clinical oversight to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of digital initiatives
- Work closely with clinicians to optimise the usage of clinical systems through configuration, education, training, and providing support
This role will require a number of skills from various disciplines, including clinical expertise, project management, business analysis, change management, technical skills, and user training. The CIS must be prepared to be dynamic in their approach, embrace change and seek a better way to deliver excellence in safe and efficient care.
Your Skills and Experience
- Degree in a Healthcare discipline, Clinical or Health Informatics or another related field
- 5+ years of experience with health technology
- Ability to development strong relationships and building credibility is essential to this role
- Certified Health Informatician Australasia (CHIA) certification or equivalent knowledge and experience highly desirable
- Excellent stakeholder engagement all levels, with the ability to motivate others to embrace change
- Passionate about continuously improving and providing high quality care and service excellence
- Experience with the use of clinical data and / or clinical information systems to enhance and improve clinical operations and care delivery
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a can-do attitude
- Enterprise-wide health IT system implementation experience involving any/all of the following activities Business analysis, Project management, System testing, change management, End-user training is highly desirable
