Join a supportive multidisciplinary team working in the inpatient rehabilitation setting on our 60 bed rehabilitation unit at Beleura Private Hospital.

 

About the Role

We are seeking a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health team in a 12 month fixed full-time leadership role.

The successful applicant will serve as a clinical specialist and team leader within the Rehabilitation Service. You will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical Occupational Therapy services to clients using advanced clinical practice skills. The clinical caseload will comprise of orthopaedics, spinal surgery, cardiac surgery, medical/reconditioning, and neurology. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Occupational Therapy team, providing supervision and mentorship to clinical staff while collaborating closely with nursing, medical, and other allied health professionals.

It is an expectation that the senior clinician will lead administrative portfolios, quality improvement initiatives and/or research projects, and ensure that all Occupational Therapy practices within the department are evidence-based.

                                                                                                                   

Qualifications Required:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
  • Member of OT Australia (or eligible for membership).
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License (unrestricted).
  • Current Working with Children’s Check.
  • Flexibility to work across hospital sites and work rotating weekday and weekend shifts.

 

Experience Required:

  • Relevant clinical experience in Occupational Therapy, including a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a similar rehabilitation setting.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to undertake professional supervision and promote professional competence of other Occupational Therapy staff members.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills

 

Remuneration

On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $55.04 - $61.73 + superannuation based on qualifications and experience. Exclusive of penalties and allowances.

With the opening of the rehabilitation unit in 2015, Beleura Private Hospital will have grown to a 205 bed facility, equipped with 4 operating theatres, high dependency unit and short stay unit.
