The Opportunity

Exciting Opportunity Alert! Join our dynamic National Health Information Management team, where you'll oversee the clinical coding auditor/educator functions across Western Australia and South Australia. As a Clinical Coding Auditor Educator, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of health information management and promoting best practices in the field. Your impact will include:

  • Leading health fund audits and ensuring high standards of compliance.
  • Designing and implementing a structured training, education, and development program for clinical coding teams.
  • Innovating through predictive analytics and conducting clinical coding audits.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of frameworks, systems, analytics, and processes.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, quality documentation, continuous learning, and improvement.
  • Promoting strong cross-team communication and collaboration to streamline operations, share knowledge, and drive efficiency.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth understanding and practical experience in clinical coding using the latest ICD-AM/ACHI and ACS standards
  • Certificate IV in Clinical Classification (or equivalent qualification)
  • Certification in External Clinical Coding Auditing (or equivalent experience)
  • Exceptional computer literacy and strong communication skills
  • A commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes with a high level of accountability

Desirable:

  • Associate Diploma or Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Record Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field
  • Eligibility for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
