Patient Account Processor
Permanent full-time opportunity | Position based at VIC Billing Hub at Peninsula Private Hospital
The Role
The successful applicant will be part of a team that provides billing and collections support to several Ramsay Health Care private hospitals across Victoria.
This is a great entry-level role for candidates looking to kickstart their career within a fantastic team who will fully support you to grow your career from the beginning.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Liaising with Health Funds and Customers
- Handling account queries
- Following up on unpaid accounts (debt collection)
- Maintaining the Aged Trial Balance to required KPIs
- Generation and submission of accounts to patients, health funds and third party payers
- Interpreting health fund contracts
About You
This position is suited to a reliable, self-motivated individual with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, and someone who can manage their workload to meet key deadlines.
Additionally, you should possess a strong customer focus and demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well with stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Strong work ethics and reliable worker
- Ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes and meet KPI targets
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Intermediate Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Accounts Receivable knowledge
- Experience in hospital mainframe systems
- Relevant health services experience
- Knowledge of Health fund contracts and accounting processes
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Certificate in Medical Terminology
Remuneration
A base hourly rate of $31.34 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowance.

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
