About the Role
We are seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to join our busy Kingsway Ward – Palliative and Geriartrics.
You will be joining our 37 bed ward caring for aged care and general medicine patients. Working closely with a multidisciplined clinical support team which includes, discharge planners and our allied health team
This role will see you managing a team of passionate professionals driven to provide safe nursing care to each individual patient to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
This position will see you providing care to patients across both admissions and discharge from their procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role you be a positive and effective leader with the ability to motivate others. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to coordinate and motivate a large team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience within Palliative and Geriartrics
- Extensive clinical skills and experience within the speciality
- Experience in a Senior Hospital Management role
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective role model in the area of clinical practice
- Demonstrated excellent time management, clinical problem solving and organisational skills
- Ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate a continuous improvement program
- Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources.
Desirable Criteria:
- Holding or working towards a tertiary management qualification desirable.
