GP Liaison – Part-time

Port Macquarie Private Hospital is seeking a proactive and results-driven professional with experience working with General Practitioners (GPs). This key role focuses on strengthening relationships with GPs, promoting hospital services and specialists, and driving referral growth.
About the Role
Reporting to the hospital CEO and working closely with the Doctor Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for increasing awareness of the hospital and its specialists within the GP community.
This is a permanent part-time position with flexible hours, including the option to work during school hours—an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with GP practices in the hospital’s catchment area.
- Promote the hospital’s specialists and services through GP visits, targeted communication, and CPD events.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase referrals and support hospital growth in key specialties.
- Monitor market trends, identify opportunities, and use data to evaluate referral patterns.
- Maintain an accurate GP database and provide monthly reports on engagement activities and referral growth.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Understanding of referral pathways between GPs, specialists, and healthcare providers.
- Confidence in engaging with doctors and identifying opportunities to promote hospital services.
- A proactive approach to building relationships and influencing referral patterns.
Desirable
- Experience in the healthcare sector.
- Event management experience.
