About the Role
We are looking for Registered Nurses experienced in the delivery of mental health Care.
As the Registered Nurse you will be responsible for will assessing, planning, coordinating and evaluating the care delivery of each patient’s individual needs. You will be working on one of our 2 Mental Health Wards at Hollywood Private Hospital, caring for patients with a range of mental illnesses/disorders.
Our units specialise in eating disorders, addictions and mood disorders which includes a dedicated ECT suite and soon to start Ketamine clinic .
This role will see you reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, and you will be joining a team of passionate professionals driven to provide safe, holistic nursing care to each individual patient to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
About You
To excel in this position, you should bring a strong clinical skillset in a hospital setting, including skills in;
- Assessment: Conducting initial and ongoing assessments of patients' mental health status and needs.
- Care Planning: Developing individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Therapeutic Communication: Engaging in supportive conversations to help patients express their feelings and concerns.
- Medication Management: Administering medications, monitoring their effects, and educating patients about their use.
- Crisis Intervention: Responding to emergencies and providing immediate support to patients in crisis.
- Psychoeducation: Teaching patients and their families about mental health conditions and coping strategies.
- Monitoring Progress: Tracking patients’ progress toward their goals and adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Collaboration: Working with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers.
- Documentation: Keeping accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans.
- Advocacy: Advocating for patients' rights and needs within the healthcare system and Community Engagement: Connecting patients with community resources and support services.
Key demonstrations:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in an acute mental health/hospital setting
- Proven ability to work effectively in a health-care team, and positively influence the performance of other staff.
Remuneration: On offer is a full-time equivalent, base annual salary ranging from $74,704.04- $98,304.19+ superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA gr1-gr8)
