- Shifts vary from 5am start, working no later than 18.45 (7.5 to 8.5 hour shifts)
In this role, you will have the crucial responsibility of preparing and serving nutritious and delightful meals for patients, staff, visitors, and various functions at the hospital.
- At Joondalup Health Campus, we recognise the pivotal role that well balance, and appetizing meals play in our patient’s recovery process.
- You will collaborate closely not only with our dedicated catering team but also with our Dietitians and relevant managers to ensure that dietary requirements are met as needed.
Your duties and responsibilities will encompass, but not limited to:
- Ensuring that all meals are served in appropriate portions, at the correct temperature and in accordance with Joondalup Health Campus Food Safety Program and Nutritional Guidelines
- Adhering to all aspects of the Food Safety Standards of Australia and New Zealand
- Demonstrating a keen understanding and capability to meet the dietary needs of all customers, meticulously measuring ingredients to address specific dietary requirements
- Upholding a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Assisting in the procurement of food stock, ingredients supplies and equipment.
About You
To excel in this role, you will be a qualified chef who possess a genuine passion for culinary preparation and service. Ideally, you will have experience working in a clinical environment or in the preparation of food for medical patients.
Operating within a fast-paced setting, your exceptional time management and organisational abilities coupled with your capacity to manage high-volume catering operations, will be instrumental in this role.
In addition, we are looking for candidates who can offer:
- A trade Certificate in Catering/Chef
- A Food Hygiene Certificate or HACCP Training Certificate, which is highly desirable
- Demonstrated expertise as a chef in a large-scale food preparation setting
- Exceptional time management skills, essential for handling high demands of high-volume catering operations
- A firm commitment to delivering food services of the highest quality
- A dedicated commitment to maintaining stringent hygiene standards
- Minimum 5 years experience as a chef, able to work by themselves, on all section
- Hospital or aged care experience is helpful, but not essential.
Remuneration: On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $34.44 + superannuation + levels of experience and qualifications.

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
- Depending on the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
