The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nurse Unit Manager for our acute Surgical Ward comprising of Neuro and Orthopaedics.

This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager or a senior nurse to step up into a management role and build your clinical leadership skillset.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational clinical management with a focus on quality and patient safety, staff development and providing support to staff whilst ensuring a high standard of clinical practice is maintained. This position holds a key senior nursing leadership and management role which will see you work closely with the Assistant Director of Clinical Services Surgical to achieve organisational goals.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA
  • Previous Clinical Leadership and Management highly regarded
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in acute surgical nursing
  • Effective management of rostering processes and allocation of duties of both clinical and non-clinical staff 
  • Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of outcomes
  • WHS responsibility and leadership in risk minimisation
  • Ongoing activity analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and experience in implementing sustainable change.

Requirements
