This is a permanent full-time opportunity to join the Digital Cyber Security team with the ability to be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, with hybrid working arrangements.

 

 

The Opportunity

The IAM Operations Engineer is pivotal to the daily operations of IAM services. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the digital Identity and Access Management (IAM) services at Ramsay Australia.

  • Enhance the technical capabilities of the BAU IAM team to efficiently manage and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ensure timely delivery and deployment of production changes and provide robust support for PVT, patches, and DR testing.
  • Document Okta configurations, troubleshooting steps, and best practices, automate repetitive tasks using Okta’s built-in automation tools (e.g., Okta Workflows).

 

Your Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Over six years of IAM experience including at least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Okta (Okta Administrator, Okta Workflows, OIE, Okta Identity Governance, and Advanced Server Access, Application SSO integrations, workflows, B2E, B2B, and B2C tenants).
  • Strong expertise in SAML2.0, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM and REST-based integrations.
  • Proficiency in Okta Workflows and ability to create automation for identity lifecycle management.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with automation and DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD pipeline, Terraform) and scripting languages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of IAM principles such as: Authentication, Authorisation, Principle of Least Privilege, Privileged Access Management and Access Control Lifecycle
  • Experience in working ITIL environment and responding to requests in a timely manner.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • A security-first mindset with a focus on compliance and best practices.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Business Systems of Computer Science
  • Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, PowerShell) for IAM automation.
  • Experience managing multi-IDP environments and resolving authentication issues.
  • Strong understanding of RBAC, ABAC, and persona-based access control.
  • Understanding of API authentication, WebAuthn, and FIDO2 standards • Experience with Active Directory (AD), Entra ID (Azure AD), CyberArk, and cloud IAM solutions.
