The Opportunity
We are seeking a Speech Pathologist Clinical Lead to support our Allied Health teams at Mt Wilga Private Hospital! This role requires a committed and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist with strong neurological rehabilitation experience and who is ready to gain exposure to higher responsibilities and leadership opportunities. The successful applicant will possess strong communication, organisational skills, problem solving abilities, clinical reasoning and be adaptable.
Your duties will also include:
- Provide Speech Pathology services within all admitted and out of hospital services of the Hospital, including Inpatients, Day Program, Outpatients and NDIS participants. This will be done through close liaison with the Food Services / Catering Department.
- Effectively provide assistance and support to the relevant Manager/s and clinical staff in the effective delivery of Speech Pathology services within the Hospital
- Represent Speech Pathology services at internal/external meetings and forums as required
- Maintain departmental statistics
- Co-ordinate staff timetabling and service as central point of contact for Speech Pathology services
- Ensure allocation of staff is in-line with budgeted labour costs
- Coordinate staff attendance at department meetings and hospital meetings
- Coordinate completion of performance appraisals and mandatory training for speech pathology team
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years post graduate experience or relevant experience in a senior role
- Demonstrated leadership and problem solving capabilities
- Advanced time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise an effective Speech Pathology service
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage a case load
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- High standard of customer service and a team approach
- Commitment to professional development and maintenance of current evidence based practice
- Flexible, positive approach to work
- Membership with the Speech Pathology Australia (desirable)
