The Role
Are you ready to make an impact in the world of Patient Accounts? As the Patient Accounts Education Officer, you’ll play a key role in driving the success of our revenue cycle by developing innovative training materials and delivering impactful training sessions. You’ll work alongside the Patient Accounts Education Coordinator to continuously improve and optimise processes, ensuring quality and consistency across the board. Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding financial procedures and accounting principles related to hospital billing and collections.
- Proven ability to develop, document and deliver effective training programs to ensure staff understand and comply with billing processes, policies, and procedures.
- Experience with private hospital billing systems, including a solid understanding of the complete billing and collections process including Eclipse management.
- Expertise in private health insurance billing, contractual rules and comprehensive knowledge of medical and private hospital billing regulations.
- Ability to adapt training methods and learning techniques to suit a diverse workforce , with varying skill levels ensuring knowledge is effectively absorbed and applied.
- Commitment to a high standard of customer service, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
- Skilled at sourcing and breaking down complex information into clear, practical insights that can be easily understood and taught to others
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Strong focus and commitment to continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence in billing and debtors’ practices.
- Ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team, and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite, particularly, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Previous Experience in Meditech
- Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
- Certificate in Medical Terminology
