About the Role

This role will be responsible for providing dietetic services across a wide variety of areas of the acute inpatient service as well as within the private practise/outpatient setting. You will lead the dietetics team at Warringal Private Hospital, which is known for its commitment to excellence in clinical practice and quality improvement to ensure a service of the highest standard is provided.  

Caseloads include surgical, orthopaedics, cardiac, intensive care, oncology and medical.

 

Duties include

  • Plans, implements and evaluates the dietetic and nutrition service to patients and carers in assigned areas
  • Accurately documents evidence-based patient assessment and management in a timely manner according to department protocols
  • Develops, evaluates and updates dietary education resources
  • Participates in approved research and/or quality improvement projects
  • Identifies and uses community resources appropriately
  • Develops protocols and procedures according to evidence-based practice
  • Provides in-service training/education for nursing, catering and medical staff as required
  • Supervises, instructs and evaluates students in approved clinical teaching programs

 

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values.
  • Bachelor of Science (Nutrition and Food Science) plus post-graduate Dietetic Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Current membership with the Dietitians Australia with Accredited Practicing Dietitian status
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately apply evidence-based practice and dietetic knowledge to patient management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Demonstrated understanding of the relevant accreditation framework and commitment to quality improvement.
