About the Role

This is an opportunity to utilise your culinary skills and expertise in a supportive, friendly environment with extraordinary work life balance as an independent chef / cook.

Joining our team at Wangaratta Private Hospital, you will be responsible for a fresh, creative menu for patients, staff, and functions. In this role you will ensure a high standard of quality hospital food production, and cleanliness is maintained in line with the Food Safety Plan, relevant Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards and Hospital policy.

This part-time role offers a minimum of 42 hours per fortnight, and is perfect for someone seeking a great work/life balance, and a supportive and inclusive environment.

Availability to work across a 7-day roster is essential. No late night shifts!

Your Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following;

• Certificate in Commercial Cooking
• Minimum 12 months experience as a Chef
• Cook qualifications may be considered
• Ability to cater to a wide variety of sensitive dietary requirements
• Must have a thorough understanding of allergy management practices
• Excellent work ethic, customer service skills, time management skills and the ability to successfully work in a team environment
• Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse workplace
• Previous healthcare setting experience will be highly regarded.

About Our Hospital

Wangaratta Private Hospital provides a range of inpatient and day patient services all located on site for the convenience of our patients. Our hospital services include 23 Medical / Surgical Inpatient rooms, 3 Operating Theatres, 10 Day Stay beds & a 6 Bed Rehabilitation Unit.

Requirements

• Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
• Will require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases, which includes Covid-19.
