We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for our Rehabilitation team at John Flynn Hospital in this Permanent Part-Time opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Educator, to play a crucial role in delivering education and support to all staff in our Rehabilitation Team. You will also contribute to the strategic plan of the Hospital Education Department as an essential member of the team.
This position is permanent part-time 12 hours per week and will be responsible for making a valuable contribution to the hospital quality improvement processes.
About the role
Reporting to the Staff Development Manager, the successful applicant will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to apply advanced nursing practices and provide education to all members of the team.
The key tasks within this position will include:
- Planning, development and co-ordination of the delivery of education courses/programs within the hospital including mandatory training, IPC training, and manual handling
- Work in partnership with the Staff Development Manager in the coordination, development and delivery of the hospital wide education program
- Contribute to the development and updating of policies and procedures
- Demonstrate and maintain high clinical practice standards as well as knowledge of current practice
- Ensure that all programs and products are consistent with the strategic direction of both the hospital and Ramsay, and congruent with current industry legislation, regulations and governing body recommendations
- Involvement in the evaluation of the education programs
- Ensure that a learner-centred professional approach is maintained at all times when coordinating and delivering programs
- Offer professional support for preceptors supporting learners/novices
- Assist new members of staff orientate and complete mandatory competencies
- Deliver and implement new directives and education programs to ward staff
About you
To succeed in this role you will bring a strong clinical skillset and have a passion for training and education.
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse
- Relevant clinical experience
- Experience in delivering informal / formal education programs
- Understanding of methods of assisting and facilitating adult learning
- Understanding of accreditation process in relation to education portfolio
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Extensive knowledge in Rehabilitation Nursing
