We are seeking a professional, positive and supportive Pastoral Care Coordinator to join the Pastoral Care Services team at Joondalup Health Campus.
This is a permanent part-time opportunity, 72 hours/fortnight.
With on call requirements.
About the Role
Working with the Pastoral Care team, you will be a positive role model as you lead, coordinate, develop and implement effective provision of pastoral and spiritual care services to patients, their families and staff. This will involve developing, reviewing and implementing relevant infrastructure, policies and procedures to provide appropriate support to individuals and their particular beliefs.
This will involve, but is not limited to:
- Providing relevant and sensitive pastoral and spiritual ministry according to the needs of the individuals.
- Contribute to the wellbeing, and emotional support of patients, families and staff in accordance to their needs.
- Maintaining safe and comfortable chapel facilities as a place of quiet meditation and reflection
- Contributing to the training pastoral supervision of CPE students, where required
- Ensuring pastoral care is integral to the delivery of quality health care, through sensitive and confidential liaison with nursing and medical staff
- Helping to facilitate training events when required
- Staff Rostering
- Develop and maintain personal and pastoral standards through periodic quality improvement programmes of analysis, review and evaluation.
- Provide interdisciplinary in-service education for hospital staff as requested
- Encourage affiliation of chaplains, pastoral care workers and pastoral care associates with the relevant professional bodies
Working collaboratively and constructively with a respected and friendly team, you will report to the Quality and Risk Manager.
About You

You will demonstrate an ability to communicate openly, succinctly and articulately, ensuring strong positive relationships with all staff and stakeholders are maintained. Critical to this role is your ability to act as an influential role model while fostering a culture that is positive, cooperative and supportive.
You will also bring:
- Satisfactory completion of one or more 400 hours units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
- Five years of proven pastoral experience
- demonstrated effective interpersonal skills
- Sound computer skills
Desirable:
- Recent experience in a health care facility
- Theological qualifications according to the standards of their denomination
